Overview Job Title: Chief Administrative Officer Location: Virginia, MN Salary: $100,400 - $140,500 (Pay Band 14) Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life, 401k, PTO, and more About Us Range Mental Health Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic committed to increasing access, integrating behavioral and physical health, and improving evidence‑based practices. Position Summary The Chief Administrative Officer (COO) oversees all operational and administrative functions, ensuring efficient program delivery and strong collaboration with the CEO and clinical leadership. Duties / Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of assigned departments, programs, and functions. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflow improvements. Coordinate staffing and scheduling for non‑clinical and clinical support functions. Ensure program resources and facilities align with service delivery needs. Collaborate with Clinical Leadership to support clinical programs operationally. Monitor program metrics, client flow, and operational performance to support quality care. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for clinical and operational programs. Ensure operational alignment of financial resources with agency priorities. Ensure organizational policies, compliance, and workforce efficiency across the organization. Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development across the organization. Develop and leverage community partnerships and participate in cross‑disciplinary meetings. Implement strategic plans, program expansions, and service innovations in partnership with the CEO. Engage with and oversee administrative support to the Board of Directors and deliver presentations as delegated. Lead operational planning for new initiatives and support agency growth. Ensure contingency and succession planning for assigned departments. Perform any other duties assigned by the CEO. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, administration, or business management within a healthcare or human services organization. Proven experience supervising finance, HR, facilities, IT, and/or access functions in a complex or multi‑site agency. Experience in nonprofit or behavioral health settings strongly preferred. Qualifications & Skills Strong understanding of organizational systems, workflow design, and data‑informed decision‑making. Ability to translate strategic goals into operational processes and measurable outcomes. Financial literacy, including budgeting, cost allocation, and financial performance monitoring. Project management, process improvement, and performance accountability skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Leadership ability to lead change, foster collaboration, and remain composed in a dynamic environment. Commitment to equity, trauma‑informed leadership, and mission‑driven service delivery. Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with a practical, hands‑on management style; collaborative and solutions‑oriented; adaptable to both clinical and administrative priorities; values‑driven with integrity. Certifications, Licenses, and Physical Requirements Valid Class “D” Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Adequate vision and hearing to use a computer terminal and record verbal information.
